Bashar Barakah (July 19th, 1999 - Feb. 19, 2020) was professionally called Pop Smoke was an American rapper. Victor Victor Worldwide, Republic Records and Bashar Barakah Jackson were his recording labels. Pop Smoke became popular for his Brooklyn drill style after working together with UK drill producers 808Melo Axl Beats, Yoz Beatz, and 808Melo Axl Beats. Welcome to the Party is the lead track of the debut mixtape Meet the Woo that was released on July 19, 2019. Two remixes were released of the track Welcome to the Party in August 2019 featuring American hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj and British Rapper Skepta. Pop Smoke debuted his first mixtape Meet the Woo in 2019. In April of 2019 Pop Smoke released his track Welcome to the Party, the song that became his breakout hit. The track has been remixed two times, one with Nicki Minaj on it and the other with Skepta. Both versions were released in August of 2019. The use of UK drilling was used extensively in the song, and throughout his discography. This was because of the frequent collaborations with 808Melo who was a British drill maker. Mpr Flexin along with Dior are among his more well-known songs. After the success in the release of Welcome to the Party he worked with other well-known artists for singles like: War featuring Lil Tjay and 100k on a Coupe with Calboy. Gatti by JackBoys and Travis Scott, released on JackBoys' (2019) album was a collaboration between him and Travis Scott.
